So this post is going up a day later than expected but it's still within the week so you'll have two posts per week. For August I did a theme that I've been wanting to do for quite a while. The theme is travelling. I hope you'll enjoy it too!

Spread 1: cover page
I invested a little more time than usual in my cover page because I really wanted to make sure it looked good. On the left page I did a drawing inspired by a picture I saw on Pinterest (if you're interested to see my inspirations just go ahead and check out my Pinterest account). It is the view out of an airplane window. You can see the sky with the clouds and the sun and the wing of the airplane. At first I didn't have any colour in it but when I finished both pages I thought it was lacking some colour. So I just added some yellow in the sun and the shafts of sun. I also ended up inserting a beautiful defintion of the word wanderlust, which says that "wanderlust (is) a strong desire or urge to travel and explore the world".
On the right page I did the drawing of a globe. I made sure that the stand had more details and was way darker than the globe to contrast them. The continents on the globe are drawn in a more rough style. Above it I wrote August in a cursive font.

Spread 2: monthly calendar
For the monthly calendar I did something very different from anything I did so far. Since I knew I wouldn't need as much space for events because I was on vacation that month, I could do a lot more decoration on this spread. I decided to do polaroid pictures for every day. The part of the picture I coloured in with a rainbow or sunset colour gradient. In the upper four polaroids I wrote in the number and the first three letters of the month. I coloured the part of the picture black and the frame in the same colour gradient. Because I didn't want to leave the rest of the page blank I drew some more polaroids and made their frames black. In the part of the picture I made little drawings of a few cities I went so far (from the top: London, Paris, Athens, San Francisco and Pisa).

Weekly one: July 29 - August 04
Since I didn't use my mood tracker in July I ended up not inserting one in August. For the layout of all of my weeklies in August I decided to do a Dutch Door one. I already explained what that is in my June setup but briefly said I cut a part of each page so that I ended up with two columns on the left and right side that I could see no matter which week I was in. On the left column I did a mini calendar and a task list. For the right one I ended up doing a habit tracker but I didn't use that tracker again because I was really busy travelling and meeting friends.
So for the first weekly spread I did a little drawing of a VW bus inspired van. On top of it you can see a surfboard and some camping stuff. Around it I also included a quote ("Go where you feel most alive").

Weekly two: August 05 - 11
In the second week I drew a camera and in the lens you can see a landscape. I really enjoyed the result of this one. Unfortunately I was having some troubles with the date headers and had to change it three times until I was happy. I ended up with some black dividers and white headers.

Weekly three: August 12 - 18
Week number three - I placed the drawing which was also inspired by something I saw on Pinterest in the middle of the two pages. I really liked the style of the drawing and wanted to add some colour to the spread. I decided to do the headers of the dates in a colour scheme of berry tones.

Weekly four: August 19 - 25
In the fourth week I decided to bring back the rainbow colour gradient of the monthly calendar and use it for the headers as well as for the very simple drawing of a compass. This one was by far the easiest drawing of all.

Weekly five: August 26 - September 01
The spread of the last week in August was definitely not my favourite one but I think it looks okay. I used some washi tape I got that month to do the dividers. I also used it to do stickers for my suitcase. To add some interest to the page I used a third washi tape, where I cut out these crowns and arrows.
So that was everything I had to show to you. All in all I am very pleased with my setup and I think the reason for that is that I could play around with either very detailed and put-together spreads and some more 'doodly' ones. I had a lot of fun with it and if any of you wants to recreate it please go ahead and tag me on any pictures you post so that I can see your amazing work! I hope you are all doing fine and we will see each oher very soon.
