October Setup & Updates

Welcome back!

It has been a while. Here are some updates for you:

I have tried out many different things this year: planners, new spreads and setups. The spreads that I am about to show you are the ones that have been working quite well for me. I also started a seperate journal to keep track of my period, movies and series I've watched. I only update that one, when I have the time and feel like it (and that takes a lot of pressure out for me, because I don't have to come back to it every day).

Astrological theme
cover page

It is hard to actually define the theme for this month. The vibe I was going for was something calm since I am starting university this month and it is a lot of change and stress. I found the picture on the right page a while ago in a magazine and it did fit perfectly well in here. On the left page I glued in some tea-stained paper, which I also used in the rest of this setup. I saw a very similar drawing on Pinterest and got inspired for this one. You can find all my inspiration for this month on the pinboard called 'Astrology theme'.

Moon and sun calendar
calendar

A big calendar is essential for me. Although I have all my appointments on my phone, it is very helpful to see everything that is going on this month. The layout is very simple since it will be filled with all kinds of birthdays, appointments and reminders.

Finance tracker
finance trracker

Now that I have moved out of my parents house it is highly important to keep an eye on my expenses. On left page I can just write everything that I spent money on as well as any income I might have. On the right page I can categorize on what I am spending my money on (food, groceries, school stuff, etc). This way I can quickly adjust on which category I have to spend less the following month. There isn't much space for decoration on this spread so I just added some small drawings of a solar eclipse (that would be a very cute washi-tape too).

Task lists for unversity
university tracker & master task list

And last but not least I have one page to track anything I have to do for my studies and one page for any tasks that aren't assigned to a specific date that month. The master task list is something I have been doing for a few months now and it is very helpful because tasks I ended up not doing that month can easily be copied into the next month. It is also great to keep track of projects that have multiple tasks.

As you can see, I have removed almost all my trackers. The reason for that was, that I hardly came back to fill in my trackers. Anything that has to be done on a daily or weekly basis I just drop down in my weekly spreads. I have been using the rolling weekly system (if you wanna know more, check out this video for example).

I hope you enjoyed this setup and maybe got a little bit inspired too. I hope you are all doing well and safe!
