Homemade Granola

Image
Welcome to my baking lesson everybody! Today I will show you how to make your very own granola. For those of you who don't know what that is: granola is a caramelized, very crispy cereal. I make it once in a while as a present or as a special treat for myself (since it isn't super healthy). Another great reason to try to make your own is that you get to decide what ingredients it will have (and if that's important to you also the quality and origin of the ingredients). So let's start, shall we? This is the basic recipe (the specific ingredients for this one I will share later on): 300g multigrain flakes 200g nuts, kernels or seeds 100g extras of your choice (e.g. coconut chips or cornflakes) 60g olive oil 150g honey, maple syrup or agave syrup 1 pinch salt spices (e.g. cinnamon, vanilla, etc.) optional: 300g dried fruits, chocolate drops, etc. Instruction: Chop the nuts, kernels and seeds into eatable pieces. Mix the flakes with the seeds, the kernels, the nuts, the ex...

Bullet journal recommendations - part I

Image
I am very glad to have you back in my little creative corner. I thought instead of showing something of my own work, I could let's have a look, shall we? (Note: all these pictures were taken off of their Instagram accounts and therefore all rights belong to them).  Plant Based Bride Elizabeth is a Canadian Bujotuber (Youtuber that share bullet journal content) and she is probably my very favourite one. She shares bullet journal plan with me videos, book reviews, watercolour tutorials and content about veganism and sustainability. She is a very kind person and if you're lucky, she might even respond to your comments on Youtube or Instagram. I would describe her bujo stile like that: although she is not a professional artist, she achieves incredible artwork with the use of simple methods and tricks (which she can explain to us in a very understandable way). She mainly uses watercolour, gel pens and fineliners.   Amanda Rach Lee Amanda might be the best known Bujotuber among...

Movie review: Misbehaviour

Image
Good morning! Good afternoon! Good night! At the end of September I went to the premiere of the movie 'Misbehaviour'. I don't know whether in your country you are able to go to the cinema, but if you can't maybe you can just wait until this movie hits any streaming platform. Fortunately in my area we are able to go and on that last day of September I had an entire cinema just for myself (it was a rather weird but cool experience though).  source:  https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcR1ydYuQCjSga3wftQGWGaAKcyJr1-s_ye20mWT1ab2NCKx7v0u The movie is about the Miss World contest 1970 in London. Keira Knightley plays one of the main character, a mother and student who participates in the feminist group also known as 'Women's liberation movement'. These women fought against the role and portrayal of women in the sixties and seventies. With the upcoming beauty competition they start to plan a heckling. The movies not only portrays the story of the ...

October Setup & Updates

Image
Welcome back! It has been a while. Here are some updates for you: I have tried out many different things this year: planners, new spreads and setups. The spreads that I am about to show you are the ones that have been working quite well for me. I also started a seperate journal to keep track of my period, movies and series I've watched. I only update that one, when I have the time and feel like it (and that takes a lot of pressure out for me, because I don't have to come back to it every day).  cover page It is hard to actually define the theme for this month. The vibe I was going for was something calm since I am starting university this month and it is a lot of change and stress. I found the picture on the right page a while ago in a magazine and it did fit perfectly well in here. On the left page I glued in some tea-stained paper, which I also used in the rest of this setup. I saw a very similar drawing on Pinterest and got inspired for this one. You can find all my inspirat...

Eggplant lasagna with goat cream cheese

Image
Welcome welcome! Since we are all spending time at home, we might as well cook some nice food, don't we? This is my all-time favourite lasagna recipe. It has been on my German blog for a while and I have now taken the time to translate it. My mum and I created this recipe by trying out different lasagnas and combining all the things we liked about them. In the end I will also tell you what you could change in the recipe to spice it up and/or replace things you don't like. Servings: 8                Cooks in approx. 1 hour Ingredients: 4 small eggplants 800g minced meat (pork and beef) 300g goat cream cheese dried lasagne sheets 600g gratin cheese (Gouda or Emmental) olive oil sea salt or coarse salt

Book review: Twenties Girl - Sophie Kinsella

Image
Good afternoon my fellow readers! I hope you are all doing well despite the quarantine most of us are in (little disclaimer: please stay at home and the respect social distancing everyone is talking about. If not for yourself than for others!!). I am staying at home too and trying to motivate myself to read a little more since I do have loads of time. My main occupation however has been to listen to podcasts and draw mandalas (it is very calming and you can easily pass hours doing it).  I thought I could throw in a book recommendation if you want to get you bootie up and stop binge-watching for a bit - even though it is perfectly understandable to do so. I hope I can inspire you to get (back) into the world of books.  It has been a little while since I read this amazing book called "Twenties Girl" by the incredible author Sophie Kinsella. It is not the first book of hers I have read and recommended and it surely won't be the last. But here's the blurb for yo...

October 2019 Setup

Image
Hellou everyone! I was planning to post this setup a long while ago but well it's only coming now. Also, if you haven't noticed (which is kind of hard since you're already here) I have completely changed the layout of my blog and I am so pleased with it! I hope you enjoy it as well. Okay here's my setup: Calendar and autumn bucket list I couldn't really decide for a theme in October so I decided to go all cliché and do an autumn inspired one since I hadn't done one before. I decided to not do a cover page because I really wanted to finish the year in that notebook. Instead I just did a calendar and added an autumn bucket list in the empty space. I wanted to watch "Hocus Pocus" (which I couldn't because it was no longer available on my streaming service) and "Harry Potter" and do all kinds of cosy things. The layout itself is quite simple. I did an ombré header for the month and the word "autumn", added some coppe...

Book review: We were liars - E. Lockhart

Image
Happy new year everyone! It's been a while since I last posted something here and I'm sorry for that but I wasn't really in the mood to write anything. However, the new year gave me loads of motivation to regularly post something (but I can't and won't promise it, we will see). I hope you had a great start into the new year and are full of joy for this new decade. One of my resolutions for this year is to read more and especially more on a regular basis (instead of using my phone or watching Netflix & co.). That is kind of the reason why I am starting this year with a book recommendation for you. The book I want to introduce you is called "We were liars" and was written in 2014 by the author E. Lockhart. It is an award-winning young adult novel and many critics consider it as a classic for teenagers to read. I bought it on a trip to London a long time ago when I wasn't even able to really read and understand it but I just wanted to buy a book a...
