June Setup

Next up is June and I did something very different to anything I did before. I took a few of the magazines that were laying around and cut out some fashion pieces. And that was kind of my theme: Fashion in a scrapbook kind of way.

June setup Frida Kahlo

Details cover page
Spread 1: cover page
So I found this picture of Frida Kahlo and I knew it would be amazing as a cover. I chose a quote from Coco Chanel that says: "Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself". My washi tapes matched the picture of Kahlo and I liked the combination of the colours.

Calendar spread June
Spread 2: monthly calendar
For the calendar I actually just took a few pictures of models where I liked the clothes and colours and added them around my calendar. And on one of my washi tapes it said "you look fabulous" and I stuck it in and made it look like a sign.

Habit and mood tracker
Spread 3: habit and mood tracker
Next up are my habit and my mood tracker. I found both of these pictures cool because of the red lips they had in it. I paired them with some silver washi tape and gelly roll. For the mood tracker I decided to do a quote where I would fill in the letters with the colour of my corresponding mood. I found this idea a while ago on Pinterest or Youtube but can't find the post anymore to show it to you. Also if you would like to see the inspirations, quotes, etc. I used for my spreads just go ahead and look on my Pinterest. I usually do a folder in my Bullet Journal Pinboard for every theme.

Weekly spread one
Week 1: June 03 - 09
As we had a lot of magazines laying around, there were many that were published in autumn or winter and therefore I found some raincoat inspirations. I like the look of these yellow and red raincoats (that too many people seem to own) and thought it would look cool to do a spread with them. Also the woman with the yellow one had a holographic umbrella and let's face it, it looks pretty cool. Together with the boxes, the washi tape and some stencils and silver ink to stamp the word "rain" it made this spread quite cohesive.

Week 2 + 3: June 10 - 23

In June I had a two week long school break and therefore I decided to do a dutch door spread. A dutch door spread usually is a spread where you cut off a part of the page so that you can have more space (because you're using an extra page). One of my absolute favourite Bujotubers (=Bullet Journal Youtubers, she uses that term and I think it's fitting) called Plant Based Bride does a similar thing. It is basically a dutch door spread but instead of cutting a page and wasting the paper, you just fould it. She calls it rolling weekly or running task list. (here is a video where Plant Based Bride explains how it works). I used a bunch of different aesthetically pleasing pictures I found (e.g. earrings, sunglasses) and of course washi tape and stamps. I ended up filming this because it was kind of hard to show what I did in a picture (let me know if you like seeing videos as well).

Closeup week 4

Layout of the week
Week 4: June 24 - 30
First things first or in this case: last things last (ok I was trying to get any good pun ok?) There was only one more week and still a lot of inspiration left (which is why I will definitely do another scrapbook theme in the future). I decided that I wanted something a little more simplistic concerning the colour scheme and so I took pictures that only had black and/or white clothes and accessories and paired it yet (again) with some silver and beige washi tape. The layout was a simple horizontal one that I always come back to.

That was it my fellow bujo lovers. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did and I would love to know if any of you has ever tried a scrapbook theme. Did you just put in whatever pleased you or did you have an actual theme like me?

We will see each other very soon (trying to come up with a posting schedule that I can actually cope with).

Until then: bye!
